Cdition is a publication about how power operates through systems—and how those systems change over time. Most analysis focuses on events, actors, and technologies in isolation, treating each development as new and unprecedented, and often disconnected from what came before. Cdition approaches this differently: it begins from the conditions that shape outcomes, rather than from the decisions that appear to produce them.
Most analysis also focuses on technologies, products, and short-term disruption. In doing so, it misses the underlying structures that give those developments meaning: how systems organize knowledge, how infrastructure channels decision-making, and how power moves through both. Cdition starts from those structures, not from the surface of events.
Here you’ll find essays that connect past and present, examine how power operates through systems, and explore what is changing—and what is not—as new ones emerge.
The goal is to understand the structure of the present well enough to see where it leads.
